Friday 28 April 2006:
05:30 am. Early departure from Stone Mountain to push ahead of the morning light. A dark and chilly beginning to a fun, peaceful, happy fourteen hours on the Blue Ridge Mountain backroads in north Georgia. Round trip 230 miles. Tasty, satisfying lunch in the Chattahoochee National Forest: Boar's Head cracked peppermill smoked turkey breast and cheese sandwich on wheat bun, dried peaches, a few potato chips, and diet mountain dew. The harvest, plentiful.
