Flycatching is what Tyrant Flycatchers do. And, this one is the franchise: Tyrannus tyrannus, the Eastern Kingbird.
With metallic chatter and agitated body language they perch and stare across contested bugscapes. One easily wonders if they would rather snatch a meal or simply fight - conspicuous white tail flashing.
Kingbirds seem to prefer large insects, wasps and beetles, which they carry back to the perch, beat into submission and swallow whole, then later regurgitate the hard exoskeletons.
