It's a Nightshade!!

●  prickly and toxic
●  prefers disturbed soil and waste places
●  stands its ground, refuses to yield
●  a bit difficult to get friendly with
●  overstates stamens, irresistible to the narrowly-focused
●  fruit's a yellow berry
●  The Nightshade Family:  potato, tomato, pepper, eggplant
●  this must be the crazy uncle
